A small to medium pachycaul, dry deciduous tree or big shrub that can grow up to 15 metres tall. The simple, lanceolate leaves are spirally wrapped around broad branches, and the whole plant resembles a big, spineless Pachypodium. Euphorbia antso is found in deciduous forest and scrubland in southwestern Madagascar at elevations ranging from sea level to 500 metres. In cultivation, it thrives in dry tropical and warm temperate conditions.
