Dorstenia crispa is found in a wide range of regions, including Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Oman. The plant showcases a robust trunk, ranging from a deep green to a rich mahogany hue. It can reach a diameter of 15 centimeters and a height up to 40 centimeters. Over time, the bark may start to peel on older sections. The stem displays noticeable and prominent circular marks left by petioles, inflorescences, and stipules arranged in a spiral pattern.
